As we roll out our latest update to the RotoProspects Top 700 Prospect fantasy baseball rankings, let’s dive into the key updates surrounding the top-ranked prospects this week.

Yankees’ Dax Kilby breaks into the Top 25 with a strong start in the Arizona Fall League

Kilby (pictured above, No. 24, up from No. 42) spent most of 2026 fighting a hamstring strain that kept him off the field until a July 24 season debut at Single-A Tampa, and he hit his first professional home run the very next night. In 32 games at Single-A he hit .261 with four homers, 26 RBI and 12 stolen bases, a modest line for a player who got on base at a .457 clip and swiped 16 bags in his 18-game pro debut a year ago. The 19-year-old lefty-hitting shortstop, the 39th overall pick in 2025 who signed for about $2.8 million, has made some swing tweaks and is making up for lost time as the Yankees’ headliner in the Fall League, where he has already homered and collected hits in his first four games. With a 6-foot-2 frame, a quick bat and above-average speed, he’s one of the few top prospects with a real chance to go from the lost season to the top of the board.

Phillies’ Aidan Miller jumps into the Top 15 after returning from back surgery

Miller (No. 14, up from No. 23) entered 2026 as one of the consensus top prospects in the game, but a back issue that first surfaced late last year turned the season into a lost one. He had a minimally invasive procedure in June, hit a setback along the way, and finally made his season debut on September 5 at Single-A Clearwater, ripping a 109.1 mph double in his first at-bat. The Phillies’ 2023 first-round pick finished the year at Double-A Reading and is now in the Arizona Fall League with the Surprise Saguaros, where he’s playing third base and designated hitter and collected a two-hit, two-RBI game early on. Our grades haven’t forgotten the bat (55 hit, 55 power, 60 future value), and as long as the back holds up, he should be back on track for a 2027 arrival.

Cardinals’ Tekoah Roby climbs into the Top 200 with a dominant return

Roby (No. 190, up from No. 390) is the biggest mover on the board this week. The 25-year-old right-hander missed the entire 2026 regular season recovering from the Tommy John surgery he had last July, a setback that came while he was on the doorstep of the majors after posting a 3.10 ERA and an 87-to-19 strikeout-to-walk ratio over 78 1/3 innings between Double-A and Triple-A in 2025. His first game action in 456 days came in the Arizona Fall League, where he struck out six over three hitless, scoreless innings, then followed with starts in which his fastball averaged roughly 95.6 and 95.8 mph and his curveball drew a whiff on more than half of the swings against it. Acquired from the Rangers in the 2023 Jordan Montgomery deal, he’s on the Cardinals’ 40-man roster and is positioned to push for his MLB debut in 2027.

Notable faller: Yankees’ Elmer Rodriguez slides to No. 172

Rodriguez (No. 172, down from No. 157) continues to drift after an MLB audition that never quite clicked. The Puerto Rican right-hander, a Top 100 name entering the year, dominated at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre with a 2.77 ERA and 81 strikeouts in 81 1/3 innings through the summer, but he was shuttled between the minors and the Yankees’ rotation several times and went 0-3 with a 5.40 ERA over his first six big-league starts, with control the main culprit. There’s no injury or transaction we can point to behind this week’s drop. The stuff and the Triple-A track record are still there, so he’s a buy-low candidate heading into the offseason.
