This list comes out in tandem with the updated Top 700 fantasy baseball prospects list.
A power ranking of the fastest risers
Here’s our Power Rankings of the Top 10 fastest risers in this week’s update of the Top 700 Prospect Rankings. The entire list of the fastest risers, which includes the player’s major-league ETA, number of spots moved up and current new position in the Top 700, can be found HERE (subscription required).
1. Jedixson Paez, RHP, Red Sox — AAA, Age 22
Paez’s 2026 has been a wild ride: lost in the Rule 5 Draft to the White Sox over the winter, he actually made Chicago’s Opening Day bullpen before being designated for assignment and returned to Boston in April. He’s now been promoted back up as part of the Red Sox’s September expansion, giving him a real shot to stick in the majors after a genuinely strange year.
2. Yohandy Morales, 1B/3B, Nationals — MLB, Age 24
Morales earned his MLB debut after popping 25 home runs with a .286/.363/.519 line at Triple-A Rochester. A 2023 second-round pick out of Miami, his plus raw power is his carrying tool, though a 24.4% strikeout rate means the hit tool remains a question as he settles into a bench role in Washington.
3. Bishop Letson, SP, Brewers — AA, Age 21
Letson continues an encouraging developmental track at Double-A, building helium in a system that’s already produced several risers on this list in recent months.
4. Bo Lowrance, 3B, Dodgers — R (ACL), Age 18
The Dodgers’ first-round pick this year (40th overall) is off to a strong start in the complex leagues after signing for $3 million. The 6-foot-5 South Carolina prep product models his left-handed swing after Freddie Freeman, and while the sample size is tiny, the pedigree and bonus size say plenty about his long-term outlook.
5. Carson DeMartini, SS, Phillies — AA, Age 23
DeMartini continues to climb after a strong developmental track at Double-A, adding to a solid track record since turning pro.
6. Alex Weingartner, SS, White Sox — R (ACL), Age 18
Weingartner is off to an encouraging start in his first taste of professional ball, one of several teenage complex-league risers gaining helium across the sport this week.
7. Samuel Zavala, OF, White Sox — AA, Age 21
Zavala continues to build on a strong season at Double-A, adding to his stock in a White Sox system that’s had no shortage of helium gainers in 2026.
8. Lucas Spence, OF, Astros — MLB, Age 23
An undrafted free agent out of Southern Illinois-Edwardsville, Spence made his MLB debut in July after a hot stretch at Double-A Corpus Christi (.269/.371/.433), drawing a nine-pitch walk in his first plate appearance before collecting his first career hit. It’s a great story for a player who went completely unselected in the draft.
9. Trey Gibson, SP, Orioles — MLB, Age 24
Gibson made his MLB debut back in May and has carved out a role in Baltimore’s staff since. His unusual, deceptive arsenal has been a talking point for evaluators throughout his prospect career, and he continues building on that first taste of the majors.
10. Leo Bernal, C, Cardinals — MLB, Age 22
Bernal continues to climb after a strong debut stretch behind the plate for St. Louis, adding to the momentum from his first weeks in the majors.
