The 22-year-old switch-hitter earned it: across Double-A Akron and Triple-A Columbus this year he hit .299/.400/.458 with 11 home runs, 20 doubles, and 11 steals in 15 attempts, while walking at a 14.3% clip against just a 16% strikeout rate. He was riding a scorching stretch into the call-up too, going 37-for-97 with four homers since July 1. With the Guardians clinging to a wild-card spot, Genao now profiles as a plug-and-play middle-infield asset in shallower and deeper dynasty formats alike.
Rockies’ Zac Veen surges into the Top 100 off a huge Triple-A season
Veen (No. 94, up from No. 160) is a name many dynasty owners had written off, but a completely reshaped approach at Triple-A Albuquerque forced Colorado’s hand. The former ninth-overall pick posted a 1.037 OPS with 24 home runs and 18 stolen bases across 100 games before being recalled on August 11 in a corresponding move that saw Edouard Julien designated for assignment. This isn’t Veen’s first cup of coffee — he scuffled in a brief look last year — but at 24, with plus raw power now showing up in games and a full-time role up for grabs in Colorado’s outfield, he’s a buy-low across all fantasy formats down the stretch. Marlins’ Eliazar Dishmey rockets into the Top 200 on a dominant Double-A run
Few arms in the minors have been better than Dishmey (No. 178, up from No. 297) over the past month. The 21-year-old righty was promoted to Double-A Pensacola and has been nearly untouchable since, headlined by a six-inning, no-hit, 10-strikeout outing on August 7. Over his last six starts he’s running a microscopic 0.33 ERA, leaning on plus fastball command, a newly added gyro slider, and an improving changeup to miss far more bats than his profile suggested a year ago. He’s not a household name yet, but the swing-and-miss stuff is real, and he’s squarely on the radar in deeper dynasty leagues and any keeper format that rosters double-digit pitching prospects.
Notable Faller: Brewers’ Jett Williams slides out of the Top 75 on a nagging wrist injury
Williams (No. 97, down from No. 66) has had a frustrating first year in the Milwaukee organization since arriving in the January trade that sent Freddy Peralta to the Mets. A wrist issue that first popped up in July has lingered and worsened, and he was placed on Triple-A Nashville’s 7-day injured list before being sent back to Arizona for a specialist evaluation after aggravating it again in a recent game. Across 81 games at Triple-A this season he’s hit .233/.340/.384 with nine homers and 21 stolen bases — solid pop-speed production, but well short of the excitement dynasty owners had going into the year, and now paused indefinitely. With Milwaukee’s infield picture crowded even before the injury, Williams needs a clean bill of health and a return to form to work his way back into the Top 75 before season’s end.
