As we roll out our latest update to the RotoProspects Top 700 Prospect fantasy baseball rankings, let’s dive into the key updates surrounding the top-ranked prospects this week.

Pirates’ Esmerlyn Valdez leaps to No. 41 with a dominant AFL showing

The young Pirates outfielder/first-baseman (pictured above) has turned heads and vaulted himself into serious “top-40” contender territory. His late-season surge in the Arizona Fall League (AFL) is the kind of statement performance that forces evaluators to re-rank dramatically.

He started 2025 in High-A with Greensboro and hit .303/.385/.592 in 72 games, with 20 home runs and 57 RBIs. He earned a promotion to Double-A Altoona, where he continued to deliver: combining his High-A and Double-A stops, he ended the regular MiLB season with approximately .286/.376/.520, 26 homers and 86 RBIs.

But that has paled in comparison to what he’s done in the AFL for the Salt River Rafters. Valdez has exploded, hitting .517 with a 1.379 slugging percentage and 8 home runs, 18 RBIs and 15 walks in his first 11 games.

Rockies’ Charlie Condon is raking in the AFL, jumps into Top 40

After a challenging pro debut in 2024, Condon posted a solid bounce-back in 2025: he slashed roughly .268/.376/.526 with 14 home runs in his full-season campaign (Double-A) while showing improved discipline and better contact rates.

In the 2025 Arizona Fall League, he has 15 hits and 14 runs scored in his first 12 games. He delivered a standout performance — going 5-for-6 with a double and two runs scored on October 22, becoming just the eighth player since 2017 to record a five-hit game in the AFL.

Standing 6-6 with premium power, Condon added a .376 OBP and showed signs of gaining plate discipline after a shaky debut. Scouts remain intrigued by his raw tools and believe he’s trending toward a 2026 MLB debut.

Mets’ Carson Benge at No. 42 with his multi-level success

Benge stands out in the New York Mets system as a young outfielder with center-field potential and a breakout 2025 season. Across three levels (High-A, Double-A, Triple-A), Benge hit .281 with 15 home runs, 73 RBIs, 22 stolen bases, and an OPS of .857. He earned the Mets’ Player of the Year award for his performance.

His combination of hitting ability, power, and speed at age 22 positions him as nearly ready to help the Mets. His ranking trajectory should be upward, and he may move into higher tiers of our Top 700 sooner rather than later.

Orioles’ Nate George jumps up to No. 70 with elite speed and contact skills

George is one of those under-the-radar names that quietly built a strong season for the Baltimore Orioles system. He began 2025 in the Florida Complex League and ended in Low-A and Single-A, showing elite speed and contact.

In just 323 plate appearances, George hit .337/.413/.483 with 14 doubles, nine triples, five home runs, 66 runs scored, 42 RBIs, 38 walks, and 50 stolen bases. His .337 batting average was third highest among all minor league players with at least 300 at-bats.
