As we roll out our latest update to the RotoProspects Top 700 Prospect fantasy baseball rankings, let’s dive into the key updates surrounding the top-ranked prospects this week.

Pirates’ emerging star Edward Florentino rises inside the Top 25

Florentino (pictured above) continues to validate the hype as one of the more polished teenage bats in the minors. He began 2025 in the Florida Complex League, slashing .347/.442/.642 over 29 games (95 AB), including 6 home runs, 6 doubles, 2 triples, and 6 stolen bases. He then earned a promotion to Single-A Bradenton, where he hit .262/.380/.503 with 10 home runs, 29 stolen bases (in 34 attempts), and 36 RBIs, while drawing 33 walks.

He did spend a brief stint on the 7-day injured list midseason with a hamstring strain, but quickly returned and resumed his strong production. He finished the season with a .948 OPS, 16 home runs and 35 stolen bases in just 83 games.

Royals’ Carter Jensen joins Florentino inside the Top 25 after his MLB arrival

Jensen’s 2025 campaign was one of the more compelling stories in catching prospects. In 111 games between Double-A Northwest Arkansas and Triple-A Omaha, he slashed .290/.377/.501 with 20 home runs and 76 RBIs.

His MLB debut came on September 3, and he had three multi-hit games in the final month, which included a two-homer game on Sept. 16 against the Mariners. He finished with a .941 OPS in his first 20 MLB games, with 3 HRs and 13 RBIs.

His patient plate approach, combination of power and contact, and credible defense behind the plate make him a rising name in both prospect talk and real big-league potential.

Cardinals’ Joshua Baez jumps inside the Top 40 after an epic season

Baez quietly put together one of the most dynamic seasons in the minors — one of only two players to post a 20-home run, 50-stolen base campaign in 2025. The other is Konnor Griffin, the top prospect in the minors.

Starting the year in High-A Peoria, the 22-year-old hit .317 with 4 home runs and 20 steals in 38 games, cutting his strikeout rate to a much-improved 21.4%, which earned him an early promotion to Double-A Springfield. There, he became a fixture in the middle of the lineup and continued to show a balanced blend of power and speed, slashing .271/.360/.523 with 16 homers and 34 steals.

Across both levels, Baez finished the season with a combined .287/.384/.500 line, 20 home runs, 54 stolen bases, and a noticeable jump in walk rate. Even with those gaudy numbers, he remains an under-the-radar name nationally — currently ranked No. 11 in the Cardinals’ system — but his combination of athleticism, raw power, and refined approach makes him one of the more intriguing breakout candidates entering 2026.

Eduardo Quintero brings power & performance from the Dodgers’ system

Quintero has continued to shine as a young bat in the Dodgers organization. In 2025, he combined time between Single-A Rancho Cucamonga and High-A Great Lakes, ending with a .293 batting average, 19 home runs, 63 RBIs and 47 stolen bases. He also earned Dodgers’ Branch Rickey Minor League Player of the Year honors and was named California League MVP.

His power jump and consistency have helped him become one of the more talked-about hitting prospects in Los Angeles’s deep system.
