Josh Winder vaults into the RotoProspects Top 300 at #281 as the Twins’ pitching prospect has been on the rise, being promoted to Triple-A after posting a 1.98 ERA and 65 strikeouts in 54 2/3 innings at Double-A. The 214th pick in the 2018 draft out of Virginia, Winder was unveiled as an All-Star Futures Game participant for the July 11 contest in Colorado. The 6-foot-5, 210-pounder has shown tremendous command this season with a 65-10 K-BB ratio. Winder has a diverse arsenal, featuring a fastball that has been gaining velocity to the mid-90s and a plus curve to go with a good slider and an improving change. As the Twins may soon begin unloading veterans from their rotation at the trade deadline, Winder could get a chance in Minnesota by August.

Sherton Apostel moves into the list at #286 on the strength of a .786 OPS and 6 homers in Double-A for the Rangers. The 6-foot-4, 235-pound Curacaoan has plus power and could push Josh Jung for the starting third base job in Texas by 2022.

Johenkensy Noel is another power-hitting third base prospect on the rise, appearing at #287 on our list as the 6-foot-1, 180-pound Dominican has a 1.007 OPS with 7 homers in Low-A for the Indians.

Bryce Jarvis is a 2020 first-rounder already performing well at Double-A as the Duke product has a 3.91 ERA and 49 strikeouts in 48 1/3 innings, moving into the rankings at #288. The 6-foot-2, 195-pounder has four above-average pitches – fastball, curve, slider and change. It may be a stretch since the D’backs may not want to start Jarvis’ clock, but the right-hander could wind up in Arizona late this season.

Heriberto Hernandez joins the list at #289 as the 21-year-old Dominican outfielder has an .827 OPS, 4 homers and 3 steals in Low-A for the Rays. Hernandez has plus power with an above-average hit tool as part of a loaded Tampa Bay farm system.

Ryne Nelson has been dominating at Double-A for the D’backs, posting a 2.52 ERA with 59 strikeouts in 39 1/3 innings, to move into the ranks at #292. The 56th pick in the 2019 draft out of Oregon, the 6-foot-3, 184-pound right-hander has a 70-grade fastball as well as an above-average curve and a solid slider.

Graham Ashcraft is another 2019 draftee (174th out of UAB) dominating in Double-A (1.89 ERA, 63 strikeouts in 47 2/3 innings) who has jumped into the ranks at #293. The 6-foot-2, 240-pound Reds right-hander has a plus-fastball and an above-average slider.

Matt Wallner is on the IL in High-A, but the 39th pick in the 2019 draft out of Southern Miss has impressed with a 1.005 OPS and 4 homers to move into the list at #300. The 6-foot-5, 220-pound Twins outfielder is in line for a promotion to Double-A once he makes his way back from a wrist injury.
