A quick look at the Top Three
1. Henry Lalane (SP, New York Yankees)
The Verdict: Back-to-back dominant frames lock him in as an elite dynasty cornerstone.
For the second consecutive week, Lalane (pictured above) secures our number one spot. The 22-year-old southpaw continues to make Single-A look entirely unfair. He tossed 7 more shutout frames, striking out 11 batters without issuing a single walk and finishing with a pristine 0.43 WHIP. Over his last 14 innings, Lalane has racked up 23 strikeouts to zero walks. The command profile has completely caught up to his massive physical ceiling—he is a forced buy in every format.
2. Leanders Matos (SS, Milwaukee Brewers)
The Verdict: A spectacular teenage complex-league phenom.
If you play in deep dynasty leagues with massive farm system spots, drop everything and check your waiver wire for Matos. The shortstop absolutely destroyed Dominican Summer League pitching, putting up a cartoonish 2.021 OPS. He blasted 5 home runs and drove in 13 RBIs while going 9-for-17. It is incredibly rare to see this kind of game power from a middle infielder this young.
3. Sammy Stafura (SS, Pittsburgh Pirates)
The Verdict: High-A is proving no match for this surging infield profile.
Stafura was an absolute run-producing engine for his High-A affiliate this past week. Over 24 at-bats, he racked up a massive 13 hits (.542 AVG), leaving the yard 4 times and driving in a minor-league-high 16 RBIs. Toss in 2 stolen bases and a 1.667 OPS, and you have a category-stretching middle-infield performance that demands your immediate attention.
The “Zero-ER” Club: Pristine Mound Work
The summer heat is favoring the hitters, but these premium arms kept the scoreboard clean last week:
- Colton Shaw (SEA): Shaw was nearly perfect over 6 innings at High-A, logging an 11-to-0 K-BB ratio and a microscopic 0.17 WHIP.
- David Hagaman (ARI): An absolute workhorse performance, Hagaman fired 7 shutout frames with 9 strikeouts and zero walks (0.29 WHIP) at High-A.
- Lucas Braun (ATL): Taking the longevity crown this week, Braun carved through Double-A lineups over 8 scoreless innings, giving up just two hits while walking zero.
- Keyner Martinez (SF): Splendid execution in Single-A, dealing 6 innings of shutout ball with an 11-to-2 K-BB ratio.
Notable Risers & Heavy Hitters
- The Power & Patience King: Ryan McCoy (TB) matched the weekly lead with 5 home runs at High-A. What makes his 1.509 OPS look even better is the elite patience, drawing 6 walks over the frame.
- Upper-Level Riser: Cody Morissette (MIA) is quietly making plenty of noise at Triple-A. He carried a 1.600 OPS for the week, hammering 4 home runs in just 16 at-bats.
- Five-Tool Showcases: Josue De Paula (LAD) stuffed the stat sheet with 2 homers and a week-high 5 stolen bases at Double-A. Meanwhile, Austin Overn (TB) showed off his high-end power-speed blend with 3 homers and 4 stolen bases at Double-A.
- Hit Machines: Zyhir Hope (LAD) and Jaron Elkins (LAD) each collected a massive 14 hits over the week for their respective affiliates, proving the Dodgers’ hitting developmental machine remains fully operational.
