As we roll out our latest update to the RotoProspects Top 700 Prospect fantasy baseball rankings, let’s dive into the key updates surrounding the top-ranked prospects this week.
Trey Yesavage of the Blue Jays soars into the Top 15 with postseason performance
Yesavage’s ascent this season has been nothing short of meteoric — from his major-league debut on September 15, 2025, to being trusted with a start in the 2025 World Series opener just weeks later. In the Toronto Blue Jays’ ALDS Game 2 start versus the New York Yankees, Yesavage went 5⅓ innings of hitless baseball, struck out 11 and became the first pitcher in postseason history to log nine or more strikeouts, allow zero hits, and walk one or fewer batters in the same game.
Then in Game 5 of the World Series he completely dominated the Dodgers, striking out 12 without issuing a walk — setting a rookie postseason strikeout record.
For a pitcher who made just three major-league starts before the playoffs, it was a statement showing.
Konnor Griffin of the Pirates is still No. 1, and for a very good reason
Griffin continues to live up to the hype at just 19 years old. In 2025, he posted a slash line of .333/.415/.527 with an OPS of .941, amassed 162 hits, 21 home runs, 94 RBIs and 65 stolen bases across three levels.
His tool package—especially 70-grade speed and a 60-grade future hit tool—remains elite, and he projects a debut possibly in late-2026. If you want a player who checks every box (hit, power, speed, positional versatility), Griffin is that guy.
Pirates’ Esmerlyn Valdez is near the Top 40 with an explosive AFL showing
Valdez’s rise has been one of the most dramatic in our update. After a solid regular season, his performance in the Arizona Fall League has forced a major reevaluation. In 16 games he has launches eight home runs and 25 RBIs, while also striking out just nine times and walking 17 times.
In the 2025 minor-league season, he hit .286 with 26 homers and 86 RBIs while showing marked improvement in plate discipline.
