The 2025 MLB Futures Game is packed with premier talent within the RotoProspects Top 700 Prospect fantasy baseball rankings, but no one is coming in hotter than Owen Caissie, our No. 21-ranked prospect. The 22-year-old outfielder for the Cubs’ Triple-A affiliate has been putting up video game numbers in July, and now he’s set to showcase that power on a national stage.
Owen Caissie (OF, Cubs – No. 21 overall)
- July stats (through July 10):
• .394 / .487 / 1.091 slash line
• 7 HR, 9 RBI, 14 R, 6 BB, 7 Ks - Notable highlight:
• On July 8, Caissie crushed two homers in a single game—his third multi-homer game of the month
• Now up to 19 home runs on the season and a scorching 1.578 OPS in July
Caissie’s combination of plus power, improved plate discipline, and advanced feel for hitting has him knocking on the door of Wrigley Field — and if he’s not called up soon, he may headline summer trade talks. Either way, dynasty owners should be locked in.
Other Top-25 prospects to watch
Konnor Griffin (OF, Pirates – No. 3 overall)
The youngest player in our top 10, Griffin has five-tool upside and has been flashing insane contact skills in High-A. The 19-year-old is hitting .327/.400/.521 with 13 home runs and 41 stolen bases already, drawing early comparisons to Corbin Carroll with a stronger arm.
Leo De Vries (SS, Padres – No. 4 overall)
At just 18 years old, De Vries has been a standout in the California League, showing exceptional barrel control and a mature approach at the plate. He’s walking more than he’s striking out over his last 20 games.
Jesus Made (SS, Brewers – No. 5 overall)
A switch-hitter with quick hands and elite footwork, Made is turning heads with a .300+ average in July and plus defense. He could become a top-of-the-order table setter with sneaky power.
Sebastian Walcott (SS, Rangers – No. 6 overall)
Walcott has 6 homers and 4 steals over his last 16 games at Double-A, combining raw power with improved contact rates (just a 17.3% K-rate). At just 19, he’s the youngest player at his level—and one of the most dynamic.
Max Clark (OF, Tigers – No. 13 overall)
Clark’s plate approach continues to impress, with an OBP over .370 and plus defense in center field. He’s stolen 15+ bases already and should push his way to Double-A before the season’s over.
Zyhir Hope (OF, Dodgers – No. 14 overall)
One of two Dodgers in the top 25, Hope is showing power-speed upside, hitting .288/.365/.550 over the past month with 4 HR and 6 SB.
Josue De Paula (OF, Dodgers – No. 15 overall)
A sweet-swinging lefty, De Paula’s hit tool has come alive lately. He’s showing strong exit velocities, and scouts love his mature plate discipline and all-fields power.
JJ Wetherholt (SS, Cardinals – No. 16 overall)
Recently promoted to Double-A, Wetherholt has a career .330 average and combines speed and power with solid defense. His swing decisions and contact rates are elite.
Kevin McGonigle (2B/SS, Tigers – No. 18 overall)
In High-A, McGonigle’s elite bat-to-ball skills continue to shine. He’s sporting a .310 AVG with a .410 OBP in July, and he rarely strikes out.
