1. Owen Caissie (OF, Cubs – AAA)
Stats: 1.703 OPS, 4 HR, 6 RBIs, 10-for-21, 4 BB
Update: Caissie (pictured above) put on a fireworks show around the Fourth of July, smashing two homers in two separate games (July 3 and July 5) for the Iowa Cubs. His advanced plate discipline (4 walks, only 3 strikeouts) and elite contact make him one of the most MLB-ready bats in the upper minors. He was named International League Player of the Week, and many around the Cubs see him as next man up if an injury opens a spot.
Fantasy Take: Must-roster in dynasty leagues. Redraft owners should be stashing him as well.
2. Marco Luciano (SS, Giants – AAA)
Stats: 1.671 OPS, 4 HR, 12 RBIs, 7-for-18, 7 BB
Update: Luciano’s raw power is impossible to miss—he’s homered in three of his last five games and drew seven walks last week. However, despite the offensive breakout, there are whispers from Giants insiders that he may need to switch positions due to defensive inconsistency. Still just 23, Luciano is back on the radar after a disappointing first half of the season.
Fantasy Take: Power upside remains real. Stock is up, especially in OBP leagues.
3. Carter Jensen (C, Royals – AAA)
Stats: 1.698 OPS, 4 HR, 8 RBIs, 7-for-18, 1 SB
Update: After being promoted to Triple-A at just 21, Jensen has responded with 4 homers in his first 5 games in July. He’s also been named to the 2025 MLB Futures Game, signaling Kansas City sees him as a foundational piece. He’s drawing rave reviews from Royals player development staff for his quick adjustments and in-game leadership.
Fantasy Take: Dynasty rocket. Long-term catcher owners take notice—Jensen could be a top-10 fantasy C by 2026.
Other standout performers
No. 8 Ricardo Olivar (C/OF, Twins – AA)
Stats: 1.346 OPS, 2 HR, 11 RBIs, 5 SB
Quietly putting together one of the most complete fantasy weeks of anyone on the list—Olivar combined power and speed while showing on-base skills (5 BB). If the Twins clear a path, he could be a sneaky call-up in the second half.
No. 17 Braxton Fulford (C, Rockies – AAA)
Stats: 1.796 OPS, 4 HR, 7 RBIs
The 26-year-old is fighting for MLB relevance with massive power output at Albuquerque last week. He crushed 4 homers and was 7-for-15. Given the Rockies’ inconsistency at catcher, Fulford is worth watching.
No. 18 Robert Calaz (OF, Rockies – Single-A)
Stats: 1.528 OPS, 4 HR, 8 RBIs
One of the youngest players on the list at just 19, Calaz is showing off explosive power and growing plate discipline. With 9 hits and 2 walks, his approach is trending in the right direction.
Honorable Mentions
- Tyler Locklear (1B, SEA – AAA): 1.244 OPS, 3 HR, 13 RBIs
- Spencer Jones (OF, NYY – AAA): 1.395 OPS, 8-for-19, 2 HR
- Zach Cole (OF, HOU – AA): 5 HR in 7 games, leading all hitters in homers
